🖥️ 1. What is Windows?

Windows is an Operating System (OS) made by Microsoft.
It helps us to use the computer easily.

👉 It controls:

  • Mouse 🖱️

  • Keyboard ⌨️

  • Programs (Paint, Word, Games)

⭐ 2. Features of Windows

  • Easy to use (Graphical interface)

  • Uses icons, menus, and buttons

  • Supports multitasking (many works at same time)

  • Works with mouse and keyboard

  • Has Start Menu to open programs

📊 3. Taskbar (Important Part)

👉 The Taskbar is the long bar at the bottom of the screen.

📌 Elements of Taskbar

  1. Start Button

    • Opens Start Menu

  2. Search Box

    • Used to search files and apps

  3. Pinned Apps

    • Quick access to programs

  4. Running Apps

    • Shows opened programs

  5. Notification Area

    • Shows:

      • Date & Time ⏰

      • Sound 🔊

      • Internet 🌐

⚙️ 4. Taskbar Settings

👉 Steps:

  1. Right-click on Taskbar

  2. Click Taskbar Settings

👉 You can:

  • Hide/show taskbar

  • Change position

  • Add/remove icons

🖼️ 5. Icons (with examples)

👉 Icons are small pictures on Desktop.

Examples:

  • 🗂️ This PC – Open files

  • 🗑️ Recycle Bin – Deleted files

  • 🌐 Browser – Internet use

🔃 6. Steps to Sort Icons

  1. Right-click on Desktop

  2. Click Sort by

  3. Choose:

    • Name

    • Size

    • Type

❌ 7. Delete Unwanted Icons

  1. Click the icon

  2. Press Delete key

  3. Or Right-click → Delete

🌄 8. Set Background Image

  1. Right-click Desktop

  2. Click Personalize

  3. Select Background

  4. Choose a picture

🎨 9. Change Windows Colour

  1. Right-click Desktop

  2. Click Personalize

  3. Click Colors

  4. Choose your favorite color

🕒 10. Change Date and Time

  1. Right-click on Date & Time (Taskbar)

  2. Click Adjust Date/Time

  3. Set correct time
