Class 8 Cloud Computing
1.
Cloud Computing
Definition:
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services (like servers, storage,
databases, networking, software, analytics) over the Internet (“the cloud”)
instead of using local computers or personal devices.
Example:
- Google Drive, Dropbox,
OneDrive, iCloud.
Advantages:
- Cost-effective: No need to buy expensive
hardware or software.
- Accessibility: Access data from anywhere
with an internet connection.
- Scalability: Easily increase or decrease
resources as needed.
- Automatic updates: Service providers update
software automatically.
Disadvantages:
- Internet dependency: Cannot access data offline.
- Security risks: Data is stored on remote
servers, so risk of hacking.
- Limited control: Users have less control over
cloud infrastructure.
2.
Categories of Cloud Computing
A. IaaS

customers to develop, run, and manage applications without worrying about the
infrastructure.
Example: Google App Engine, Microsoft Azure App Services
Use: Developing apps without setting up servers
C. SaaS
(Software as a Service)
